Chester RFC 2011

We wish all the boys the best of luck with their rugby tour to Northern America (Toronto, Philadelphia & New York) and hope they have a fantastic experience!

We are delighted to be taking Chester U16s touring rugby team to North America. The players have all worked hard to raise funds for the tour, and we expect that the experience will help them see a broader side of both rugby and cultures. We are immensely proud of the team and are sure that all the players will acquit themselves with hard work and good running rugby on the pitch, and good humour and respect off it. The standard of rugby will be high and no doubt competitive and inclusive in equal measures and the lads are really looking forward to meeting and playing the Canadian and American teams. This promises to be a tour and trip of a lifetime for all players, coaches and parents, we are really looking forward to it!

Well done to everyone for all their fundraising efforts. Have a great tour and best of luck with the tour matches. Looking forward to seeing some pictures, who will be the first one on the blog wearing the "Ring Of Shame"!!!!

All there this morning - passports and tour shirts (apart from Laurence & Keith - tour shirts that is!)
Everyone in great spirits looking forward to the days ahead.
We were the last ones there, my fault, I forgot the tour socks! Ben is now the first to wear the first "ring of shame" - sorry Ben.
Hope you all have a great trip, looking forward to seeing the picks and hearing the stories.

Hope you had a good journey and all went according to plan. Could someone remind Cam to send his grandpa a postcard from Canada, perferably in the first couple of days so that it gets to him before you all get back!

All arrived safe and well.
Apart from Jane HG and Laurence's luggage - bags left in Paris along with 6 other peoples!!
Makes for interesting first few hours in Canada when you are wearing your sons underwear and shopping in Sears for new clothes. Hopefully their luggage arrived last night........?
Canada won the international game, just like England against Wales.
Good luck with your 2 games later today and have a great time tonight at the BBQ.

Well done Chester RUFC on two fantastic results 38-Nil & 57 Nil, I understand the boys were really fired up, sounds like their training has paid off. Good luck for your next game against Brampton on Monday. Luggage arrived Jan so I am afraid you will have washing when they get home, just hope no long lasting injuries from tight pants!!

As you can probably guess no contact from Cameron as yet, I think the only call I'll get is from the airport asking to be picked up! We were hoping for a few photo's by now, especially of the fancy dress. Does anyone know if these messages are being picked up by the team?

Hi all - just wondering if there is another site somewhere with details and pictures of the lads tour? I've been looking all week but other than the little bit of info above , I cant find anything! Any help much appreciated to see how my "adopted" boys are doing.

Hi all evrything going really well, I know postings have been put on & photos but some difficulty & trying to sort, probably be done by the time everyone gets home. Everyone having a brill time in NY but v tired from all the walking!!!

Well the tour has finally come to an end, We have had a great time even though Mike & I joined part way through, The last match was a nail biter but well done for turning it around to a win, fantastic result. We are off for some r&r down in Florida so hope you all have a safe journey home and we will catch up when we get back all the best the Gledz
