Well a long couple of days started at Manchester Airport when the group met prior to the transatlantic flight to Calgary, arriving around 1800 in the evening local time. We then spent an hour or so on the bus transferring to the Spruce Grove Hotel in Banff, arriving early evening with everyone ready for a quiet night. The flight and travelling had taken its toll and there was a training session in the morning - it is a rugby tour after all!
The first full day in Canada began with a good breakfast and stretching session to rid the group of those knots caused by 12 hours on the plane. Then to set everyone in the mood all 41 tour members made their way to the World's largest Rodeo at the Calgary Stampede where the bemused English took such sights as lassooing, bucking bronco and the like. It was a perfect way to start before the serious side of the tour which begins this weekend with the first fixture.
