Day 4

14:30 soon came around and it was time to pack up all our towels and shake the sand out of our sandals for the journey back to the hotel in time for the game later in the afternoon. Once back at the hotel the was a mad dash for Subway across the road, getting showered and into all the kit in time for the coach at 16:00 everyone made it apart from Gareth who once sat down on the coach remembered he had left his playing shorts in the room. We eventually got on our way again in a yellow school bus but then disaster struck – We hit traffic! This was a worry for everyone as we had an hour’s journey to do in rush hour and we felt it wasn’t going to happen - it didn’t! We sat on the highway for three hours solid stop start stop start this obviously got to a few us of considering the heat and also now being late for our fixture.

At 19:30 (now an hour and a half late) we decided it was best to take a break and decide what was the best thing to do with the situation we found ourselves in. It turned out we were still 45 minutes away from the club our lads were simply not up to playing and the highway was shut further up, therefore there was a group decision made to turn around and go back to the hotel. Everyone was very disappointed to say the least some feeling extremely ill at this point. We then returned to the hotel with long faces but looking up to tomorrow and our next game on Friday.
