It was the finally decided that majority of the group were going to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean film and so they did. Only to discover that the cinema was a good 20 minutes walk away. The film was enjoyed by most, including Karen, Jane and Blake commented it was “ok” the bits the saw as most of the three hour film they spent catching up on some lost sleep!
Breakfast was a sleepy affair this morning as an early rise was in order in time for our Hippo Tours excursion this morning. Following breakfast again we started to gather in the lobby of the hotel ready for the mass walk to the subway station to the West side of downtown. We started our commute and on arrival we were greeted by 2 tightly close steel doors, the subway was shut until 09.30!

Plan ‘B’ now kicked into action – Walk. The group now ventured back onto well-known ground down Younge Street to near the CN tower. On arrival at our final location of the Hippo head office, we were greeted by 2 very unusual looking buses / boats. It turns out we were extremely early and have to wait 45 minutes to set off!
The vehicle now was on the road and we were making our way round Toronto with our tour guide giving very informative information about the city and pointing out famous and important landmarks. We then ventured on to the water, with each bus having a splashing competition and giving the Hippos some support by chanting “GO HIPPO GO” this went down great with the lads as you could imagine! The views of the city were sadly dampened by the low-lying fog whilst on the Hippo but this didn’t dampen the experience as this was enjoyed thoroughly by all! Early after noon was at leisure before training, light shopping seemed to be the favourite choice for today. The lads then had their first intense training session with Andy Brown, this turned out to be an extremely wet one with the pouring down intermittent rain but was great preparation for the second tour fixture tomorrow.
The evening began with the lads putting on their casual / smart clothes and meeting in the foyer before the short walk to Hard Rock Café, Toronto. All 42 of piled in the café and the look on the staff faces was a picture in its self. It now came to light that the lads were looking smart due to the young waitresses; we actually got some shots with them!
After an evening meal enjoyed by all there was a little free time before day 3 came to a close.
