Day 1&2

It was an early start for Bolton School as the whole party were involved in a local news feature covering their planned tour of South Africa. Once the photo shoot had finished the team boarded their coach bound for London Heathrow. On arrival Caspar leapt into action and organised a very orderly check in which went without a hitch. Three hours to kill and lots to see and do meant the time passed quickly and before you new it the group were airborne and heading for the Rainbow State.












Touch down couldn’t come too soon as 12 hours sitting in any seat is hard work ,sleep or no sleep. Customs and immigration went like clock work and soon the boys were back on board another coach heading for their first base on tour, “The Cape Suites”. Even though it had been a long night some things just can’t be missed and when it was made clear that there was an opportunity to see Table Mountain off the group went to enjoy their first real feel of Cape Town South Africa.
The rotating cable car that climbs to the summit is not for the faint hearted or those afraid of heights as it stands at 1086m. Once at the top the boys dispersed in various different directions to enjoy the breath taking and fantastic scenery that has literally been carved out over millions of years.



Once back down at sea level the group headed for the Famous V&A Waterfront Docks for some much needed rest, food and in some of the teachers cases a bit of retail therapy but the boys were far too hungry for any of that.

Back at the hotel the players opted for shorts and ball games while the more relaxed in the party headed to bed for a power nap before the group dinner and live music entertainment.
